Status (2026-08-27): this workflow is not yet available in the AI assistant. The mileage engine exists in the platform, but the user-facing path arrives with Assistant Skills (import or build your own skill) on the owner's promotion — until then the assistant will tell you it cannot run this summary. This guide describes the intended workflow so you know what to expect.

What it does

At the end of the week you give the AI assistant your starting and ending odometer reading. The platform reads your Daily Reports for that week, splits the total into one continuous odometer range per worked day, and writes a one-to-two-sentence summary of each day's inspection activity from your own report text. You get the exact lines your agency mileage log expects:

{employee_id}, {last}, {first}, {project_code}, Inspection, {4733}-{4814}, {81} 8/10 8/10
Summary: Provided inspection coverage at Plaza 59, including ...

Total vehicle usage: 359 miles
Odometer range: 4733-5092

The numbers are computed, not guessed: the day ranges chain start → end with no gaps, the days sum to your total exactly, and each day stays in a realistic 55–150 mile band. Every step of the split is listed under "How the miles were split" so you (or an auditor) can see how each figure was reached.

How to use it

  1. Open the AI assistant (the chat bubble) from anywhere.
  2. Say something like: "Weekly mileage: start 4733, end 5092, week of 8/17."
  3. The first time, the assistant asks for your employee ID, last name, first name, and project/charge code and offers to remember them. Say yes — you will not be asked again.
  4. Review the lines and summaries. Copy them into your mileage form.

Adjusting a day

  • "Make Wednesday 77." — that day is fixed; the other days re-balance so the total stays exact.
  • "Tuesday should be the highest day." / "Friday the lowest."
  • "I only worked Monday through Thursday." — worked dates override the Daily-Report dates.
  • "Here is Tuesday's summary: ..." — your own text is used instead of the Daily Report for that day.

Where the summaries come from

Each day's summary is written from that day's Daily Report: the work performed, accomplishments, and the per-contractor activity notes. If a date has no Daily Report on file (and you did not provide text), the line still prints but the summary says so — the assistant will not invent work.

Tips

  • Worked dates default to the dates that have Daily Reports in the week. If you have none yet, the assistant assumes Monday–Friday and tells you so — confirm the dates.
  • Multiple projects in one week: all of your reports in the range are read; name the project to narrow it.
  • The odometer must increase across the week (end greater than start).

Try asking the AI Assistant:

  • "Weekly mileage: start 4733, end 5092, week of 8/17."
  • "Make Wednesday 77 miles and keep the total the same."
  • "Tuesday should be my highest mileage day."
  • "Here is my summary for Thursday, use it instead of the daily report."
